Intro to NRCS Programs and ACCD Support for Farmers and Equine Operations

Do you raise a few (or many) horses or cows? Do you grow crops commercially? Are you a farm owner with an interest in improving conservation on your property? Do you know very little about what local resources are out there? Then this is for you!

This webinar will be the first in a monthly series that focuses on issues affecting equine and livestock owners in the region, as well as introducing the people and programs that can help you create a conservation plan to improve your property or meet regulatory requirements.

We will start in April with a very basic overview of USDA and Natural Resources Conservation Service assistance, including their financial support programs. Then we will introduce ACCD staff who provide regulatory and technical assistance guidance to local farmers (often around manure mgmt. and soil issues). Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and get contact information should you want to talk in more detail about your operation.

Future webinars will cover topics like pasture management, cutting hay, state tax credits for farmers, spring developments and watering systems, and more.
